Tee Time streamlines golf tee time scheduling, connecting players of all skill levels with nearby courses and fostering community through preference-based matchmaking and messaging. Designed for convenience and social engagement, Tee Time offers seamless tee time management, skill-based matchmaking, and easy payments, transforming the golfing experience into a more connected and enjoyable journey.

Value Proposition: Tee Time centralizes golf tee times, connecting players of all skill levels to nearby courses and fostering community through preference-based matching and messaging. Designed for golfers seeking convenient scheduling and social engagement, Tee Time simplifies tee time management and offers a seamless third party payment system, unlike any other in the market

Results

Tee Time successfully simplifies the golfing experience by offering a user-centric solution that addresses key challenges faced by golfers. With its seamless booking system, skill-based matchmaking, and community-building features, Tee Time stands out in the market as an innovative tool that enhances the social and logistical aspects of the sport. The app's intuitive design and elegant visual identity have resonated well with users, making it a preferred choice for golfers seeking both convenience and connection.

Background

The task was to create an app that addressed key challenges faced by users, requiring a thorough process of research, design, and development. The objective was to design an intuitive, visually appealing app that effectively meets user needs, streamlines experiences, and fosters engagement.

Problem

Finding and booking tee times. Difficulty in connecting with golfers of preferred skill level. Lack of information about course conditions and amenities.

Solution

Seamless tee time booking for nearby courses. Matchmaking with golfers of similar/preferred skill level. Effortless group outing coordination and course information.

Research Methods

Personas

Based on user research, three types of personas were created: The Novice Golfer, the Intermediate Golfer, and the Highly Skilled Golfer.

The Novice Golfer faces challenges stemmed from their lack of experiences, confidence, and understanding of golf rules, etiquette, equipment, and terminology. Despite seeing golf as a platform for relationship-building and personal growth, they struggle to navigate the complexities of the game while seeking simplicity and guidance to enjoy and excel at the sport.

The Intermediate Golfer grapples with juggling work obligations alongside their passion for golf, striving to refine their skills while navigating the intricacies of course selection and membership options. Despite viewing golf as a way to relax and foster connections, they seek ways to strike a balance between their professional and leisure pursuits. 

The Highly skilled Golfer faces the challenge of maintaining peak performance levels while balancing competitive play with other responsibilities, alongside staying up to date of the advancements in equipment and technique. Despite thei expertise, they seek well maintained courses that offer changes to showcase their skills, often gravitating towards premium venues that reflect their commitment to excellence in golf. 

Empathy Maps

Empathized and analyzed target users' thoughts, feelings, statements, and behaviors as they navigate the ins and outs of the golfing process and experience.

Journey Maps

By creating journey maps, I gained a clearer understanding of the various activities my target audience engages in while working and identified their stress levels at each stage.

Visual Strategy

Tee Time incorporates our brand colors of a forest green and a honey mustard gold/yellow to convey a sense of elegance and playfulness, with our sporty vibe and wavy script text reinforce the unique and fun aspect of Tee Time. Interactions within the app are intuitive and seamless, with user-friendly features that enhance the overall experience.

The combination of dark green and honey mustard yellow creates a visually striking and harmonious brand aesthetic for Tee Time evoking feelings of sophistication and playfulness. These colors differentiate our brand, making it memorable and distinctive in the market.

Marketing Strategy

Tee Time revolves around the fusion of convenience, community, and excitement in the world of golf. Its about bringing together golfers of all skill levels in a vibrant digital space where they can easily find nearby courses, schedule tee times, connect with like-minded individuals, and embark on unforgettable golfing adventures. 

We'll tell this story through a variety of outlets, starting with our digital presense on social media platforms like Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok, where we'll share engaging content, user testimonials, and updates on new features. We'll also utilize targeted online advertising to reach golf enthusiasts across different demographics and geographical locations. Additionally, we'll leverage partnerships with golf influencers, clubs, and publications to amplify our message and reach a broader audience.

Tee Time can leverage its brand recognition and loyal user base to effectively market merchandise like polo shirts, hats, tees, and other golf-related items. By integrating the sale of merchandise within the app, Tee Time can capitalize on users' engagement and interest in the golfing community. Additionally, Tee Time can use targeted email campaigns, social media promotions, and partnerships with golf courses and events to showcase and sell its merchandise. Offering exclusive discounts or limited edition items to app users can further incentivize purchases and foster brand loyalty. By aligning merchandise with Tee Time's sleek and sporty aesthetic, the brand can reinforce its identity and create additional revenue streams while providing value to its customers.
